TC 110 - My Other Self

(click the magic button to hear or download the 24 minute episode)
I really don't know how to explain this one. I'll try to come up with something in the coming days, if I don't pull this post down first.

Fun episode! :) Your story got me thinking of stories from my past, and those times that I happily remember while growing up. I believe I may focus on those for the next episode. :)
Awesome to see the "behind the scenes" look. I had been wondering how you got the good shot distance for your updates.
Thanks again for the episode Scott :)

Really interesting, Scott. I'm fascinated by the question you raised regarding our pasts and our selves. Gonna have to mull that over for a bit.

It's hard to believe that you're still so pessimistic about your anonymity in this internet world. People listen to you. Don't worry. One minue, you talk about meeting people who listen to your podcast, and the next minute, you discuss your fear of speaking to your illusion of an audience. Real people listen to you. Don't worry.
Also, I have a couple of questions. One, could you post your word of the week in your blog, so that people don't have to watch TCTV to write the sentences? I know that seems counterintuitive to garnering a TCTV audience, but video doesn't work well on my computer, so I can never watch it. Two, in one episode you mentioned Tokyo Calling merchandise (or, at least, I thought you did), so could you post a link to that (if it exists)? And finally, (well I guess this isn't a question) I was going to ask you if the building was that Fuji (something) building that I have seen elsewhere on the internet before. I guess it was (looking at image).

Thanks all-
Keltin: I'm becoming more and more convinced that people enjoy stories. Hope to hear yours soon. Thanks to Aaron for shooting the "behind the scenes" picture. Next up, I'm hoping to get a video of an actual update being shot.
Kevin: Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm a big fan of your podcast: Short Cummings Audio.
Taylor: Sorry about the pessimism. I thought I had only thought that; I didn't think that I actually said it. My bad.
As for TC Merchandise - I'd love to make some avaiable, I just don't have the time, energy or know-how to get it done.
And yes, that brown building does appear in my Flickr spread - it is the Fuji Latex building. Any guesses about what they produce??

Hey Scott - I agree with Taylor about your pessimism. I've been listening for a long time now and enjoy your banter and tangents and find them some of the best parts of your podcast.
Podcasting is still new and there may be 'rules' set up of how some 'expert' thinks things should be, but it's still forming and there is room for every sort of style and voice.
While I can't say why others like TC (or think is wrong with it), I can say why I am an avid listener. I like to hear your take on Japan, I like to hear what's happening there, I enjoy hearing about the social differences between Japanese culture and my mid-western one, and I always enjoy hearing what is going on in your head. Oh, and the background noises are great! I wonder just what is being said or what is happening and it creates a wonderful canvas for your thoughts.
After listening to many of your podcasts I now have Tokyo as a place I want to visit in my lifetime where it wasn't before.
Keep doing what you're doing the way you want to do it.
Your Minneapolis Friend and Fan - John
