Hitotoki
Over the past week, I've spent more hours than I could afford to spare reading some of the fascinating Tokyo stories featured on Hitotoki. The short pieces of writing on this literary web site seek to capture a singular moment which connects the author to a particular place.
Originally based in Tokyo, the project, since launching in 2007, has recently expanded to include stories from New York and London. According to the site, they are searching for writers and editors in other cities around the world.
If I knew how to better write, I'd consider submitting something. I find myself so inspired by reading the stories that I might even try to take the necessary steps to learn how to write a worthy story.
I hope to share some of my impressions from a couple of particular stories on the next podcast. Until then, take a look and see if something tickles your fancy. And if your up for the challenge, submit something.

I thought you were going to treat us to some of your writing? I am really looking forward to it!
Let me be the judge! ;)

San: Patience please. I have every intention of rolling out the 500 Wordish Essay podcast, in due course. It won't happen in January. There's a good chance for a debut by the middle of February.
I'll see if I can come up with a limerick to tide you over till then. If I can, it no doubt will appear on TCTV on big flash cards ala Subterranean Homesick Blues.
